About the Author

James Carl Meadows began life amongst the rugged ridges, cliffs, and valleys of Kentucky's Red River Gorge, along the Sheltowee Trace.  He grew strong and proud, nurtured by friends and family, beneath the emerald canopy of the Daniel Boone National Forrest.  He graduated from Morehead State University, where he fell in love with the writing of regional masters like Jesse Stuart.  Once a man, agree in hand and wife by his side, he followed the rolling brown waters of theLicking River up to its confluence with the Ohio.  Between the courses of those two ancient waterways, he found a place to settle down and bring the stories out of his imagination and onto the page.  His writing reflects the storytelling traditions of his Scotch-Irish roots, flavored by other nationally known influences like Patrick Rothfuss, M. L. Wang, Brandon Sanderson, and more.  Now, for the first time, he has written down one of those stories from his dreams, to be enjoyed by all who would pull up a chair, pick up a book, and join him on a literary adventure.
